Where are you located?

Natascha Wesch's consulting practice is located in London, Ontario CANADA. Specifically, Natascha meets with athletes and teams either at the University of Western Ontario, in her home office, or at local training venues in London and surrounding areas. In addition, Natascha consults with athletes and teams across the province of Ontario and all across Canada, and a few of Natascha's clients are located overseas. Natascha is able to work with clients in person on site or at distance through the use of the Internet (e.g., Skype, FaceTime, etc.).

How does consulting work?

There are still many athletes, coaches, and parents who misunderstand the field of mental performance and how it works. If you want to enhance your mental game and mental toughness, then you can't just sit there and hope it happens. The good news is that you can train your mind in the same way as you train the rest of your body. Time, practice, and repetition form habits, and habits shape your behaviour.

Typically, Natascha will work one-on-one with an individual athlete or in a group setting with a team to develop the necessary mental skills and techniques to enhance sport performance. Mental skills are developed over time and therefore, sessions occur over the course of several weeks or months.

What is Mental Performance?

The field of Sport Psychology is about integrating theory and applied practice to train the mind to excel and, in turn, enhance performance by complimenting physical and technical training.

An important component of the field of applied sport psychology is mental skills training, which is designed to develop psychological skills in athletes or artists that lead to performance enhancement.

How can mental skills training help me?

Mental skills training provides the methods and techniques that further propel athletic/artistic performances beyond those that can be achieved through physical and technical training alone. Athletes and artists of all ages and levels (e.g., recreational, competitive, elite) can benefit from mental skills training.

Mental skills training can help you to:

  • Develop self-confidence
  • Deal with adversity
  • Set goals and create a positive long-term vision
  • Use imagery to work on competitive skills
  • Focus concentration and attention
  • Create performance routines
  • Develop a positive approach to competition
  • Recover from injury
  • Manage thoughts and emotions
  • Develop positive self-talk
