More About Dr. Wesch
Born on the outskirts of Montreal, QC, Natascha Wesch competed in many sports while growing up, such as tennis, gymnastics, ringette, hockey, soccer, and many others. Just before starting university, Natascha feel in love with the sport of rugby. Within one year of being introduced to the sport, Natascha represented her province at the senior national championships, and within two years she represented her country on the international stage.
Natascha attended Concordia University where she played on both the varsity hockey and varsity rugby teams. She studied Exercise Science and specialized in Athletic Therapy. In her graduating year, Natascha was named the Concordia University Stingers Female Athlete of the Year.
Natascha moved to London, Ontario to pursue a master's degree in Exercise Biochemistry at the University of Western Ontario. There Natascha started the Mustangs varsity women's rugby program and developed it into one of the leading forces in Canadian women's rugby. Natascha is currently in her 18th season coaching with the Mustangs.
Throughout her graduate work, Natascha continued to play rugby for Canada and compete in several international tournaments, including two World Cups. Natascha also began coaching at the provincial and national levels, and became heavily involved in rugby in Ontario and Canada. She led the junior provincial program to several national championships and put the junior national program on the world map. Recently, Natascha lead the Canadian National Senior Women's 7s team to the inaugural Rugby World Cup in Dubai, UAE.
Following the completion of her master's degree, Natascha became a full-time faculty member in the School of Kinesiology at the University of Western Ontario. After almost a decade of teaching, she returned to full-time studies to pursue a PhD in Sport Psychology and from there founded her consulting firm, Elite Mind Performance - Natascha Wesch Consulting.
Now Natascha spends her time helping athletes master their mental game.
