 Leah Lawson

"After receiving another concussion during the last rugby season, I was beginning to realize that something was very different and wrong with how I was feeling. I ignored how much my concussion symptoms were affecting my life until it got to the point where I couldn’t go through my basic daily activities. I decided to talk to Natascha about how I was feeling. She helped me understand that what I was going through was a difficult thing to do alone, and so she provided me with information about concussions, someone to talk to about my injury, but most importantly, made me realize that I had to adjust my lifestyle in order for me to start to heal. At the beginning of my healing process, I was afraid I was never going to be able to perform daily tasks without symptoms, but now I am finally starting to slowly get back into physical activity and sport. I can confidently say that as I get back into sport, when I come across any mental roadblocks, Natascha will be able to guide me to break those mental limitations and help me succeed again."

~ Leah Lawson, National/Provincial/Varsity rugby player

"Natascha Wesch worked with our players as a mental skills consultant over the course of the last 2 hockey seasons.  I was very impressed with her personalized approach, attention to detail, organization, and positive rapport that she developed with our players in this short time.  Our players responded very well to Natascha and viewed her as a trusted advisor.  Natascha was always professional, respectful, and aware of our players needs both on and off the ice.  It was a pleasure to work with her."

~ Misha Donskov - Assistant Coach, London Knights (OHL)

"I started working with Natascha in the hopes of finding my ideal performance state and to learn how to focus on just my game and not be distracted by things I cannot control.  Because of the unpredictable results of competitive sports, you are constantly put in positions where things don’t go as planned, and it is easy to lose your confidence and get down on yourself.  Natascha introduced me to imagery, breathing techniques and self-evalutation tools that have helped me improve my performance, learn from my mistakes and be much more resilient. Once I started using these techniques I noticed I enjoyed the whole experience so much more and found it a lot less stressful.  At this point, I use the tools Natascha has provided me with in many different environments and find she has shown me how to go about training the mental aspects of my game."

~ Jakub Szmit, London Junior Knights

"Dr. Wesch gave me some strategies to focus on the positives and improve my game. She taught me to focus on the parts of the game that I can control and not to worry about the rest. On the way to and from every game, I take a few minutes to write about my strengths as a hockey player. This helps me to focus on the game and feel more confident because I focus more on what I can do rather than what I can’t."

~ Kurt Watson, London Junior Knights

"Natascha’s vast experience and knowledge of mental skills training as an athlete, coach, and consultant was a valuable resource for our team in preparation for National Championships. Natascha’s use of unique analogies to explain mental skills allowed the athletes to develop and create their own mental skills repertoire. In fact, by the end of the summer the athletes had been exposed to so many different strategies as a team that each athlete had developed their own mental skills routine and were aware of which strategies were most effective for them. The end result was a more unified, focused, and well-rounded team able to adapt to various situations/issues."

~ Denis Blondin, Head Coach Rugby Ontario U19 (2010 National silver medallists)

Meghan Harris

"As a heptathlete in track and field, dealing with competing in seven events is often hard mentally and physically. After a couple meets with disappointing results I sought out the help of Natascha Wesch to aid me with my performance anxiety and teach me tools to stay focused and set realistic and achievable goals. After learning and using Natascha’s techniques, I saw a great improvement in both my mental and physical performance during competition. I was able to overcome barriers I had troubles with in the past and found a new positive outlook and attitude when it came to competing. She showed me how to focus on my strengths, take it one event at a time and be successful while doing so."

~ Meghan Harris, University of Guelph and London Western Track and Field Club

 Courtney Pryce

"Before I met Natascha I had a lack in confidence. I was easily frustrated when it came to sports and I did not know how to let go of my mistakes. Natascha taught me to learn from my mistakes and that I really can do anything if I focus and put my mind to it. She has also helped me greatly with my school and social life. Since working with Natascha I have become a better athlete and person."

~ Courtney Price, Rugby Ontario

 Michael Hutchinson

"I was introduced to Natasha during the 2010 playoffs when things really weren't going well. With the help of her techniques and easy to talk to personality, she really helped me get over my mental hump and put everything into perspective. Her techniques are easy to follow, practice and continue on your own. I have been putting her methods to practice in a lot of my daily activities and have noticed a big difference. I would definitely recommend any athlete who wants elevate their performance to the next level to talk with Natasha. "

~ Michael Hutchinson, Boston Bruins draft pick and former London Knight

 Chris DeSousa

"I worked with Natascha Wesch for a few months and I have found it very beneficial for me both on and off the ice. We were approaching the end of the regular season and gearing up for the playoffs, and I had been going through a slump where I felt I wasn't playing as well as I could (as a player I put a lot of pressure on myself to play well). I started working with Natascha and right away noticed a change in my play. I learned how to use imagery before, during, and after games and even practices. She also taught to focus on the things you can control and not worry about what you can't control. Once I started focussing on what I could control it made the game a lot easier. I began playing my best hockey of the season because I had the right mind set going into every game and practice."

~ Chris DeSousa, former London Knight

"Our team was looking for results, and with Natascha that's exactly what we received. With the mental skills in place helping us with adversity and allowing us to believe in ourselves, we changed our attitude in all concepts. Games, practices and everyday living skills were adjusted. The players learned very quickly what they individually brought to the team . All the adjustments and steps Natascha had put into place allowed our team to achieve our common goals. Thanks again."

~ Chris Stewart, Head Coach 2009-2010

 Hayley Finn

"I have just started working with Natascha and quickly experienced huge improvements in my game. She helped me manage my competition anxiety, which was really affecting my game. My confidence got stronger through the various exercises and techniques that I learned from Natascha. This not only helped me on the court but in the classroom as well. My work with Natascha helped me turn the stress of competition into gaining a winning edge. She has taught me that my mental game is just as important as my physical game."

~ Hayley Finn, London Ramblers Basketball

 Alex Cestnik

"Following a serious injury and multiple surgeries, Natascha worked closely with me to develop a personal and comprehensive mental imagery program to deal with the setback I was facing. Natascha’s help significantly contributed to my rehabilitation progress by converting mental strength into physical strength.  She supported and empowered me by providing me with the imagery tools I needed. The mental exercises not only allowed me to effectively control my pain, but I am also confident that they shortened my recovery time. Without her support, I would not have been able to return to the field and confidently play the way I have: at the peak of my performance and mentally stronger than ever."

~ Alex Cestink, Rugby Ontario

 Robin Marissink

"Once I began to work with Natascha I made some big improvements in my skating.  Natascha helped me conquer my fear of landing a jump that I had injured myself on the previous year.  The Imagery we did really helps me to achieve my goals and take control of my skating.  Natascha has also helped me to stay calm before and during competitions."

~ Robin Marissink

Natascha has really helped me be aware of patterns that have developed, and the program she has set out for me is extremely easy to follow. The techniques she has taught me are a part of my everyday life on and off the golf course. I feel very mentally ready for competition and practice the more and more we work together."

"Natascha taught me how to be mentally and physically strong as an athlete. She taught me to focus on the task at hand and to be comfortable mentally during stressful times on the field. Natascha taught me how to use imagery, and this enhanced my performance through my increased self-confidence."

Maria Gallo

"As the captain of the Women's 7s National Rugby Team I had added responsibilities and stresses to lead the team and also perform well. I used many of Natascha's mental skills techniques to help me concentrate and focus come game time.  Her techniques were useful in application. Her mental imaging helped me envision what I wanted to achieve on the field and more importantly what I wanted to get from those experiences.  To this day I still use some of the tools she has taught me and I apply them to my every day life."

 Ashley Patzer

"I have worked with Natascha Wesch for about 5 years and have learned and developed many skills under her influence. One of them being how to mentally prepare myself before, during and after my rugby matches. She has also taught me imagery skills that I use before every game that I play. I know the things that I have learnt from Natascha have helped guide me into the player that I am now, and have been very influential in my rugby career thus far."
